Demonstration of spatial hearing under ideal, academic, conditions where bursts of noise are spatialized using head-related transfer functions (HRTF) obtained for the Neumann KU100 dummy head under anechoic conditions.

🎧  required

  • Because ideal, anechoic, conditions are rarely encountered, demonstrations such as this are mostly academic.
  • Sound were generated offline using 150 ms bursts of ‘pink’ noise (1/frequency) that were ramped (25 ms) and then convolved with the HRTF for each sampled azimuth.
  • HRTFs made available by the Institute of Communication Systems, University of Applied Sciences.
